The Relationship Between Constructions and Grammatical Categories

There's a tremendous amount of variation and people basically don't know how to handle it. So the problem is we all think we know what an adjective is in English. The question is what happens when you go to another language? Now you go to a European language like French or Spanish or Russian. They all have adjectives, but that's partly because they're all working in the same Western grammatical tradition of grammatical description.
