Birds Fly

To fly is many things, but certainly one of those things is to experience unbridled joy. I saw two ravens once near Chimney Rock in northern New Mexico riding the air currents next to a great sandstone cliff. There is no mechanistic evolutionary explanation for what they were doing other than playing. Birds remind us, link us, invite us into the joy of a universe at play. As Saraswati reminds Queen Lila in the Yoga Vashista, the universe is always at play.
