How Do You See Autobiography in Your Paintings?
Lisa Kogan: I believe that autobiography is embedded in my work rather than narratively in my work. There are things that have roamed around in my life. Like a few years ago, I was making a lot of green paintings and they had landscapes and sort of farmland in it. And when I stepped back and looked at those paintings, I realized that in some ways that they were so influenced by a time when I first saw real landscape.
