Philip May is probably a more important figure in British politics than most people appreciate. I mean there were clearly moments where without him she wouldn't have made it through. But the difference is that the Trump story is a story of at some level corruption. It's about family members not just propping their partners up and getting involved in feuds but actually wanting to get their hands on the levers of power. Unless I'm missing it there isn't any sign of that in British politics. No I think we revel in sometimes the incompetence and the chaosbut I think most British political journalists would say that our system is largely free of corruption.
