The Unforgiving Life of Betsy Gardner
After her father's death, Betsy broke off her engagement because she couldn't take it anymore to Joshua Gardner. After the engagement break-off, Joshua Gardner settled in Henry, Tennessee and became a successful farmer. He got married and had two kids. There was something about his brother becoming the president of a railroad company. I have no idea who that would have been. Richard and Betsy invested most of their money into a cargo shipment, the ship overturned and sank and they spent most of their lives in poverty. That also happened often back then.
