I grew up in a huge family where everyone just knew everyone's stuff. And so we tend to overshare even when it's not our business. I forget that other people didn't necessarily grow up in the environment that I grew up in and oversharing in general is just not a good thing period. It's unfortunate that we've grown as a society to bond over talking down on others. So I think it probably is case to case by case, right? If you know this friend to be super private and they wouldn't want other people to know their business then you know better as a friend what to do and what not to do.
