When septimius sevirus became the roman emperor, he decided that caledonia should be conquered. Both hadrians wall and the antonime wall were refortified before sevirus would endeavour to go one step further than agricola and completely conquer the island. Sevirus actually died from this illness in the year two 11. And his sons who had accompanied him, were far more interested in going back to rome to compete for the roman throne than they were in fighting caledonians.
