How to Maintain a Boundary
Step three is to maintain the boundary. Once we've set up ourselves to be an act different in a given situation, we don't want to go back to those old habits and patterns that no longer serve us. So for me, very similar to Jenna, not having boundaries, putting everyone else before me,. identifying with that overachiever archetype who doesn't like to disappoint anyone or anything in my environment. Now the two of you can come to the table and negotiate that boundary. These might be no compromise areas where we won't negotiate but some areas we can.
