Rousseau's Life

Rousseau, in essence, imagines a society that exists without any kind of slavery or exploitation. For Nietzsche, such a thing is impossible, for Rousseau it is possible. In 1749, he found an essay prompt from the Academy of D'Géon printed in the newspaper. The inquiry was whether the arts and sciences had improved the human condition or worsened it. He answered with an essay arguing that they had worsened it.
