The Difference Between Estimation and Testing

Soye: basan inference was born, basically pierre simon laplace first introduced it. Jeffreys argued that in some cases, that estimation approach violates common sense and contradicts accepted scientific procedure. So the idea that you adopt a complex model only when the data provide evidence in its favor is very congruent with scientific procedure. But i am not sure they're really aware of the work by rynch and jeffreys for adding the test ing scenario to the estimation scenario.
