There's a social security trust fund that owns about two point seven trillion dollars in us. Government obligations assets of the trust fund. Over its 86 year old history, the security administration has collected 24 point one trillion dollars in taxes and paid out 21 point two trillion dollars. So there's roughly two point seven and two point nine trillion dollars left for future spending.
