The Battle of Yorktown

Eight thousand british marched out of yorktown through a double line of american and french troops. They tried to focus all their attention on the french line and pretend lhike the americans weren't even there, until the continental band started playing yankee doodle dandy to get their attention. It was a bitter peace that was made that day, but it was a peace. Next week we will discuss what it would mean to settle the thing.
