The Evolution of the Search Pipeline

In October 2022, Roku published a technical blog post in which they were talking about building semantic search using clip models and another system called Universal Sentence Encoder that could do both text and images. The pipeline for doing this neural information retrieval is still evolving very rapidly because there's a lot of new research going on. So I can even talk about how LLMs are actually changing the pipeline even further. But at a high level, you know, the lifecycle of a query as it comes into an information retrieval pipeline will continue to change.
