How to Become a Good Reader

Reading is a relatively new skill for humans. Our early human ancestors didn't read, so there's not a part of the brain that's labeled the reading part. About 5,000 years ago, people in the Middle East came up with a system to write down the words and ideas that had been spoken for generations. Even after reading started, it still took a long time in history for reading and writing to catch on.
