From an electrons point of view it's kind of a lot of stop-start type stuff. As the electrons come in they'll be sort of shunted to different places to um uh to do different kinds of things and I think that shunting is basically going to happen at random depending on so for example let's say we go wire coming in and it splits in two which way is the electron going to go? It could take a small amount of time to move  a small number of electrons from one place to the next instantaneously.
