The Cost of Being in a Public Role

"The cost of all of these other parts of me that have been wanting to come forward was slowly becoming greater than the benefit of feeling sort of secure and comfortable in this public role," she says. "There just becomes this ease with which we keep people in their boxes that we come known to see them in, and a discomfort with allowing both ourselves and other people to change."
