The Mughal Empire Doesn't Pay the English Any Attention

Roe was one of the first people to be involved with what we now know as the East India Company. The company had just been licensed by Elizabeth I in 1600 at the end of the year. They're turning in good profit, in fact, huge profit. But negotiating with merchants is beneath the prestige of the Mughal Empire. So they send someone suitably posh to India who can talk to the emperor on their behalf.
