The Planck Effect on Inflation

The current scene is very confusing. Very smart people have tried to advance theoretical physics in the last decades, and we're in an embarrassing situation. There's no evidence for supersymmetry, for extra dimensions, for new generations of quarks or substructure. None of these ideas which go beyond the standard model have been confirmed. And cosmology, the results of the Planck seem to be right in line with the simplest version of inflation. The case is not closed.
