The Law of Identifying People
If you don't identify somebody, and if you're able to strip out all identifying factors from your publication, you cannot be sued. This was such an odd case because although all they said was it was a BBC star, suddenly BBC stars across the spectrum were all being accused on social media. Do you think that'll sort of change the way people look at questions of identifying people in the future? I would say that the language must have been chosen quite carefully as there are a number of BBC presenters across all arms of their broadcasting world. So actually, if you have a group of two individuals and one comes out and says it wasn't me, then you've obviously identified the other.
