The Battle of Elkingen
Marshal rich had left alm the previous day with around 15 thousand men. Most of the austrian troops held bravely and continued to return fire as best they could. In one regiment, a few soldiers couldn't bear standing in the face this punishing fire so turned tail and ran. By the time marshal rich limped back to olm, there were only about two thousand, 500 men left in good order. Napoleon was so pleased by this battle that he gave ney a noble title, duke of elkingen.
