The Importance of Identity in Spanish America
No one in my family ever mentioned it. It's been my own research. Sunday I would love to go to al-Bukerke and search the archives there for, see what documents I might still be able to find related to my ancestors,. The most amazing case of all about this identity issue is a town in Portugal, Belmonti. They've been Jews here since the 16th century, practicing our rituals at home. And you can't connect the dots between her mysticism and that of, let's say, the Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism. But any way you look at it, it's very interesting.
