Book is an attempt to draw people's attention to the magnificence of nature. It challenges some of our default conceptions of what nature and wilderness are. We miss things because they're too small for us to perceive, or we think they're boring. Sensory pollution also makes us less able to hear noises over a distance. And i've described censory pollution as the pollution of disconnection. it disconnects us from the cosmos, from from the stars.
