IBM PC is really the catalyst for this revolution taking off even more. IBM wanted to not just come into personal computers, but they wanted to come into them in a big way. And so that's really what they were able to do when the IBM PC came out in 1981. It really started a whole different era in the development of personal computers and led to a totally different landscape.
