How to Get the Same Results as Passive EQs in Ableton Live
Ableton Max for Live is a digital version of the old passive EQ. It steps an incoming CC control and essentially steps it so that you're getting the same kind of behavior as these old passive EQs. The cutoff, rather than being smooth, is sent values that actually match the cutoff frequencies of the LTCH. You get something that's akin to the old bastard. And of course, because it's a plugin and it's controlling digital things, you can have it stereo.
