The South African Communist Party develops what's called colonialism of a special type, which is another way of talking about internal colonialism. The Congress formulation ultimately gets channelled into an anti-racist form of struggle that's disconnected from anti-capitalist struggle. And so the theory of racial capitalism comes from thinking about these two things as inextricable.
