The modern version of this movie, when he gets to college, he meets a nice girl who likes him for who he is. He spends the whole movie pining over this asshole lady who told him to become a jock or go boss. She's the red herring. And it's like this character is weirdly both of them at the same time. But then yes, you go like, Oh, OK, this is kind of like fun structure for like a bunch of busters shorts. The things are not silly enough. They're not quite the bits were just not robust enough.
