Black Silks and Inclusion in the Legal Profession
i was wondering if you have any thoughts on how the legal profession in particular can work towards becoming more inclusive, rather than simply more diverse. It comes back to physicality again, doesn't it? The male members of all professions are always described in terms of our physicality. And i think that's very undermining his intellect. If he's a commercial silk he wouldn't have got there without being somebody of intellect. And that that's what should be celebrated. I find that sort of blindness to what that says has really struck me. So that while we might be able to tick the box and say that we are diverse, we're not necessarily incluse.
