The Beauty of Scripture
If your faith isn't built on tradition, then there's something transcendent beyond that. Why do some traditions stand up when they read the words of Jesus in church? They do it because they know those are more important. Scripture is not about us. The book of revelation is not about Avonus. It is the book of the revelation of Jesus Christ. And I think if we have, you know, our eschatological mindset has a tendency to be a little narcissistic at times. But that's kind of the issue that we run into.
