The Rise and Fall of the Atreskins
Grave goods were humble and mostly about distinguishing an individual's gender rather than social rank. The turning point seems to have come between 750 and 700 BC, when inhumations grew dramatically more popular. A man buried around 700 BC occupied one of the first of these truly magnificent elite tombs. He was interred with a full panoply of arms and weapons, bronze spear, bronze shield,. bronze shoulder guard, and chest plate.
