Hedy Lamour was married to a Nazi industrialist and had overheard conversations about how the Nazis could gain naval supremacy. She's beginning to be recognised as a pioneer in digital encryption which has ramifications for issues around privacy on the internet, wireless and Bluetooth technologies. The question of whether she is a scientist or not probably isn't the right question to ask but it's just how coming culture we can't recognise scientific innovation in a beautiful woman.
