The Importance of Strength in FRP

I assume this material is a little bit like wood in that the analysis has to take into account the direction of the grain, so to speak. If you know you are pulling tension perpendicular to the grain that may be the weaker mode and if you are bending with the grain that is probably the stronger. We currently don't have that provision in FRP. It doesn't necessarily linearly relate as you change between zero degrees to 90 degrees.
