The diary is written in dutch, and we couldn't speak dutch, so otto started to translate different chapters for us here in switzerland. He sent it to us, and that's when i read for the first time what anna had written. Otto always said, i didn't know my daughter until i read her diary. And it was the same with me. For me, she was a playful, lovely young girl. But these wonderful thoughts absolutely new. What's the point of war? Why oh why can't people live together peacefully? The question is understandable, but up to now, no one has come up with a satisfactory answer. I'd really like to know
