The Deficiency in Tolkien's Life

I was pretty disappointed in the portrayals of Rob Gilson and Father Francis Morgan. I see that strong relationship with Tolkien other than the fact he pictured with him at the end. The major deficiency that I saw very, very blatantly was the almost total absence of any reference to his Catholic faith. And this is not limited to the film. It's something that's pretty pervasive in scholarship and popular writing about Tolkien but it's a huge gap.
