i didn't know until i started writing it what form it would take. All i had in front of me was the ranna mama chapter, which i had written and which had been published in granta. And then i decided that, ok, i would append my mother's interview to it. And suddenly that structure revealed itself to me. That led me to using basically one detailed interview with each chapter that i did. In one chapter, it appears at the end. Other one, it is the beginning.
