As a kid, you had all kinds of ideas about why he might be in there. And the one thing I didn't want it to be was this. Almost anything else I felt like I could find some way to rationalize it. In the dark at night, the saddest parts of me assumed my father's crimes were the source of the crime committed upon me. It just feels very knotted up in what wasn't being said for all those years.
