There's a common myth out there that it takes roughly 21 days to create a new habit and I've obviously studied your writing so I've researched it through you. A research study done at University College London found that habits take on average about 66 days for a new habit to stick. More complex habits like going for a run every day after work could take up to 250 days which is like seven or eight months. If you're trying to build a new behavior into your life it's going to take months for it to become automatic, says author James Wolraich.
