The Importance of Water in the Kimberley
I wanted to take you back to Mottawara and the community efforts in protecting this very sacred river. You know as indigenous people we do not separate land water people they are intrinsically and extrinsically entwined we can't separate them so here we have a story now in Western Australia where water besides the water license is free. We are just reforming a 1914 law called the Water Act to look at how they bring in six bundles of legislation to come up with a solution. I think that's a humbling reminder to know that we're not the only living breathing thing even if we feel like we're sitting under a tree and there's no human being around for kilometers.
