The S Curve of Learning
The older we get, the more we can insulate ourselves from ever doing anything new. So when you know that it's going to be uncomfortable, it makes it easier to manage. And perhaps even depending on where they are on that s curve, more formal might make more sense,. Perhaps earlier on, when you know less, and maybe some of the more informal could make sense later as you develop some of that that flow and that sort of mastery as you move move on towards the end.
