I began writing when I was 12 and felt a compulsion then to feel out what I was all about. journalistic writing was the first form of writing that I did but it really happened entirely by accident because of the joy that I took in, she says. She adds: "To become a writer you have to write in a certain form that gets published so this kind of writing was therefore a solitary exercise stop quote"
