Organ Sharing in the US Isn't a Perfect System

Up to 28,000 organs are wasted each year because it takes too long to find out if a patient has accepted or declined an organ. The United Network for Organ Sharing maintains and manages this database 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Some suggest we should expand the Oregon pool by offering a monetary incentive similar to blood plasma donations.
