Calherd wrote hymns that were pro vegetarianism. So he said that if God had meant us to eat meats, then it would have come to us in an edible form like a fruit. And weirdly, the whole setup of vegetarianism in that period of the 1800s was completely rife with names that were connected to animals or meat.
