Everything we do in life is competitive, says Alfi kerne. Research shows children are less trusting of others when they play sport. One study even found that you could predict how selfish a child was just from knowing how competitive the child's parent was. Just living with someone who needs to win is enough to make children less concerned about other people's well being.
