The Frustration of Being an Expert
Peter Lee: I frustrate myself with my inability to explain this stuff to my colleagues. The way kind of knowledge is built, it's like building blocks of different concepts that you have to stack one on top of the other. How do you get to the point where you make a word into a number and turn it into something called a semantic embedding? That's a problem that the world at large is wrestling with. It probably explains the US elections back when Trump got in, it probably explains Brexit. People don't know where to go for high quality information these days,. There's also an element of it being incredibly exciting because they are huge.
