"It's one of the most beautiful shows that we have done. And I hope when people look back on our time at HBO, they go, that was a great show," he says. "There used to be with syndication, which that marketplace has gone, but there used to be an incentive for a studio and network to get to 100 episodes." He adds: "In the absence of the syndication market, you don't have the same incentive".
