Marco rides with his family through the countryside of china, then known as cathe cloud pours over near vertical mountains. After more than four years of travelling, he is close to setting eyes on the khan's great palace at shang do. Marco revels in these new experiences, immediately exchanging his travelling clothes for a mongol style of dress. He drinks in as much culture and language as he can find, taking pleasure in learning about the locals customs and festivals.
