Did Joseph Kerwin Take His Own Life?
Joseph Kerwin's people knew about the tunnels underneath his house, says Ezra Cooks. He said they were probably dug by pirates and smugglers operating in the area a century or more before. "They're just there to buy time for more senior people" to get into those tunnels and get out of there, he adds. No report was ever filed on each person who went through them -- which is unusual but not unprecedented.
