Be Filled With the Spirit

Paul uses drunkenness as the contrast. He's using this picture of being drunk with wine intentionally because he's trying to say, hey, church, be filled with the spirit. Don't allow wine to color your thinking. Allow the spirit to fill you. So many of us ask the lord for wisdom, but what we're asking for in that moment is the ability to think better in human terms. If you need wisdom, i want to suggest you go home, you lie down on the floor, and you invite holy spirit to overwhelm you. That is the key to wisdom.
