The Franchise Fatigue of the Year
I think there's definitely franchise fatigue with a lot of these things. I don't put much stock in the audience as an arbiter of quality to begin with. When the big spectacle is just boring, sameness over and over and over again, audiences get tired of it. And this is one reason why if you look at the movies that have popped so far this year, the difference is what makes them jump out.
