Teddy was born in Yorkshire and grew up around the airfields but is that why he's been so particularly interested in the war? I think to people of my generation they do feel that the war is very close but they didn't experience it. It's almost like a frustrating memory it's something that you've almost forgotten although in fact we've never experienced it.
