At the centre of mister clark's plan to undo president trump's election laws was a letter mister donahue received. You testified that this could have grave constitutional consequences. I thought it was very important to give a prompt response rejecting this out of hand. This is not the department's roll im to suggest or to state legislatures how they should select their electors. It may very well have spiralled us into a constitutional crisis. i want to make sure he understood the gravity of the situation, because he didn't seem to really appreciate it.
